e-Soft offers e-GeCo to satisfy these needs. Reliable and integrated to validate and recognize disrict, city, addresses, etc. It is based on “fuzzy” logic, it is configurable and integrable with customers information systems and G.I.S. e-GeCO has already been selected and adopted by major organizations, which use it to georeference their databases and those of their partners.
How does e-Geco work?
e-GeCo has a server named also GeoCoding, it is based on a core of libraries able to identify an address even if there are synonyms and errors. The “fuzzy” logics allow data to be normalized according to user-configurable reliability thresholds. Moreover e-GeCo uses a large library of synonyms and abbreviations, which can be further integrated by the user. In this way e-GeCo can consider Piazza and P.zza as the same denomination. More sophisticated strategies are applied to search for street names. The e-GeCo kernel is based on a series of libraries implemented within an Oracle architecture, which guarantees the highest level of scalability and security. Sometimes for the same address similar but not identical there many results, so you need to look for which name is more similar to the one you want to identify, setting a series of rules to provide a level of reliability for this comparison.
Qual è l'architettura di e-GeCo?
e-GeCo solution is composed by a core of normalization functions, by a series of libraries, procedures and programs essential for a correct system integration and an efficient use of the standardization services. The synchronization procedures acquire the data from the official “roads” database and insert it in the corresponding tables of the system. The address normalization services can be accessed in batch way or online by integrating with the Oracle database or with web services.
e-GeCo born from an important partnership between e-Soft and Regione Emilia Romagna which integrates this solution in its territorial information system and uses it to normalize and georefence many addresses from multiple databases and to make services available to citizens.
